Available as a 4 ounce soap bar containing the following:
Calendula Flower (Calendula officinalis)
One of the first flowers ever to be cultivated, Calendula has grown for centuries throughout Europe where it was believed to have skin friendly properties. We use the flower petals harvested from our South Wedge gardens as a vital addition to this soap.*
Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao)
Generally grown in West Africa, the cocoa bean yields cocoa and edible cocoa butter, much of which is used in personal care products. It is high in vitamin E and produces a rich creamy soap lather. We use steam deodorized butter to eliminate the chocolate scent while preserving the nutrient profile.*
Also known as Sea Berry, the ancient Greeks fed it to their horses to produce a sleek coat. The nutritive berries are high in minerals, protein, oils, beta-carotene, and vitamins B, C and E. We include the extract in this soap for its potent antioxidant properties and as a natural preservative.*
Ylang-ylang grows primarily in Indonesia where it is called the “flower of flowers”. These delicate flowers are picked in the morning, then steam distilled to yield an oil popularly used in perfumery and soap for its sensual scent.*
Fantastic for cleansing all skin of all types, South Wedge Botanical Soap contains no animal by-products, no synthetic fragrance, and no detergents. The base soap contains saponified food grade oils of Rice Bran (Oryza sativa), Palm (Elaeis guineensis) and Coconut (Cocos nucifera) for a full balanced lather. Only the purest grade of sodium hydroxide is used in our soap production. Essential oil content is less than 1.0%. This handcrafted soap is quality tested for consistency, aged, then packaged in biodegradable cellulose film.
