South Wedge Soap
Favor your skin

Available as a 3 ounce soap bar containing the following:

Great for washing all types of hair, this bar contains no animal by-products, no synthetic fragrance, and no detergents. The base soap is made from food grade oils of Rice Bran (Oryza sativa), Palm (Elaeis guineensis) and Coconut (Cocos nucifera). Essential oil content is less than 1.5%. Simply wet hair, rub bar, then suds up the thick lather; it also works as a shaving soap with a traditional mug and brush.

Mango Seed Butter (Mangifera indica)

The oil extract of mango seeds forms a butter rich in vitamins A, B, C, D and E. Recently it has become quite popular in premium soaps and shampoos.*

Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis)

Almonds are rich in protein, calcium, magnesium, and vitamins A and E. Traditionally used in soaps and shampoos, this oil yields a bubbly lather.*

Rose Geranium Essential Oil (Pelargonium graveolens)

The fragrance is so lovely that it is commonly used in perfumery, soaps and shampoos. We use the fine quality oil from Reunion Island off the southeast coast of Africa.*

Rosemary Essential Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis)

This steam distilled essential oil is often used in shampoos for its herbal evergreen scent and as a natural preservative.*

Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

With its luscious aromatic scent it is classically used in soaps and shampoos. Though many synthetic or hybrid lavender scents exist, we use only fine quality steam distilled true lavender.*

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice (Aloe barbadensis)

Aloe use for skin care goes back some 5000 years in Egypt where it was called the “plant of immortality”. It is used today in numerous soaps and shampoos.*

Burdock Root Powder (Arctium lappa)

This nutritious root is high in vitamins, minerals, mucilage, inulin and pectin. Often found in soaps and shampoos, we incorporate this root powder for its special cleansing and emulsifying properties.*

Chamomile Flower Extract (Matricaria recutita)

Also referred to as “ground apple” for its fruity scent, its extract is frequently incorporated in soaps and shampoos. We grow abundant chamomile in our South Wedge gardens.*

Chickweed Leaf Extract (Stellaria media)

Chickweed is a nutritive herb high in vitamin C, potassium, iron, mucilage and saponins. Traditionally used by Native Americans as a skin wash, it contains botanical surfactants which provide substantial shampoo lather.*
