Sage Leaf Extract (Salvia officinalis)

Use of Sage goes back to the Middle Ages where it was traditionally burned and thought to be a disinfectant. Today it is frequently used in soaps and shampoos for its herbal scent and antioxidant properties. We harvest Sage from our South Wedge gardens for this soap.*

Lemon Grass Essential Oil (Cymbopogon flexuosus

Lemon Grass grows extensively across Southeast Asia and is commonly used as a flavoring agent and as an herbal tea. The oil distilled from this tropical grass has a bright lemon citrus scent which is often used in skin cleansing soaps and shampoos.*

Macadamia Oil (Macadamia ternifolia)

The Macadamia Nut was discovered by native Australians and used for its high oil content. More recently the oil is found in premium soaps for its skin permeable properties. It contains a large amount of Palmitoleic fatty acid which has a similar consistency to human skin oil.*

Fenugreek Seed Powder(Trigonella foenum-graecum)

Fenugreek seeds are high in vitamins A, B, C and E, minerals, mucilage, saponins and emulsifiers. It has a history of topical use in India for skin cleansing and hair care. We incorporate the seed powder in this soap for its emulsifying and cleansing properties.*

Fantastic for cleansing all skin of all types, South Wedge Botanical Soap contains no animal by-products, no synthetic fragrance, and no detergents. The base soap contains saponified food grade oils of Rice Bran (Oryza sativa), Palm (Elaeis guineensis) and Coconut (Cocos nucifera) for a full balanced lather. Only the purest grade of sodium hydroxide is used in our soap production. Essential oil content is less than 1.0%. This handcrafted soap is quality tested for consistency, aged, then packaged in biodegradable cellulose film.
